November 28, 2023 – The United Way of Central Massachusetts Women’s Initiative will host its third DEI Speakers Series featuring guest speaker Celia Johnston Blue, President and CEO and Founding Member of the Massachusetts Women of Color Coalition (MAWOCC) and Moderator, Joyce Augustus, President, JCassand Inc., taking place Tuesday, November 28th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Clark University, 950 Main Street in Worcester.
MAWOCC President & CEO Celia J. Blue Celia Johnston Blue is a seasoned executive leader with over 25 years of leadership experience in the private, public and nonprofit sectors. In 2015, Celia collaborated with 12 women of color from across Massachusetts and led the development and public launch of the Massachusetts Women of Color Coalition (MAWOCC) Inc. In her current role as President and CEO, she is leading the organization to realize its vision and mission, while strongly advocating for the voices of women of color to be heard to address the inequities that are present in every aspect of their lives.
Joyce Augustus is founder and President of JCassand, Inc., an online fashion accessories retail store for both men and women. As a former President of the Board of Directors at the YWCA Central Massachusetts, Joyce had the honor of leading the charge of empowering women, eliminating racism, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Joyce currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, Worcester Regional Research Bureau, United Way of Central Massachusetts Women’s Initiative Leadership Council and Entrepreneurship for All (EforAll) Greater Worcester Advisory Council.
The United Way of Central Massachusetts Women’s Initiative is hosting the third installment of its Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Speaker Series to celebrate diversity, honor local women leaders, educate members, and create opportunities for role models and mentorship in the community.
